Management Information Systems Lead

Job Introduction

A Wilderness Way is embarking upon a change programme which includes acquiring new systems throughout the business operations and support functions. These changes will support our growth strategy and ensure we are delivering the best possible care for the children who live with us.  We are looking for an experienced MI&S professional to lead from inception, manage optimum utilisation around current systems and work collaboratively with key stake holders

Main Responsibility

To deliver our strategy around existing and new system capabilities creating automation and harnessing the existing data outputs to deliver a seamless management information reporting (MI) platform.. You will oversee and drive system implementations across our business, to align with our MI strategy and integrate with Power BI. Partnering with our internal customers, you’ll become not only our management information specialist, but an expert superuser of all our systems.

  • To business partner and understand the needs of what business intelligence and MI AWW needs, create the dashboards and reporting for the leadership teams.
  • To work in a way which promotes continuous improvements to continue to evolve our systems, dashboards and access to information.
  • To be a key partner in the appraisal of the new systems.
  • Project manages new system implementation end to end.
  • Own relationships with system suppliers ensuring updates are applied, SLAs are adhered to and issues are escalated.
  • To support the IT Manager and Finance Director to develop and deliver in conjunction with the business/ key stakeholders robust information systems as part of the journey of business process improvement.
  • Understand all systems and applications within the business, to support the IT Manager ensuring optimisation and efficiency.
  • Actively partnering with the business to understand the business requirements and processes to work to provide automation and solutions.
  • Ensure the provision of timely and accurate data to key stakeholders.
  • Manage improvements within challenging budgets and conflicting demands of users.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to exploit changes in technology to deliver maximum efficiency within the service.
  • Ensure data governance and security is reviewed and robust, in line with current Data Protection legislation.

The Ideal Candidate

You'll be experienced in a similar role working tactically on data quality and checking, validation controls and techniques.  Have experience of identifying and establishing relationships with third party supplies and be able to demonstrate accurate reporting of statistical analysis with change implementation in mind.  

Successful candidates will have:

  • Excellent comprehension of Power BI and IT systems
  • Be an advanced user of Excel
  • Knowledge of programming e.g. R, SSRS or SQL
  • Expertise in status reporting (including escalation of  risks, issues and dependencies) experience
  • Relevant qualification at degree level, ideally an a numerate discipline
  • People management experience
  • Ability to scrutinise and align MI priorities with business needs
  • Be able to quickly and efficiently learn multiple bespoke software platforms concurrently

£42,000 -£50,000
