Operations Manager

Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

Job Introduction

Under the delegation and leadership of the Head of Care, you will have accountability and responsibility for leading and managing a cluster of Multi Building Registered Services (MBRs) and a specialist dual occupancy offering.   This is an exciting opportunity as we become the first provider in the whole of the UK to align with the new MBR framework.

You will work alongside other Operations Managers, providing clear and consistent support, positive role modelling, supervision, performance management and appraisal of your Registered Service Managers ensuring the best possible outcomes are achieved for our children in placement.

Each of our Operations Managers champion a specific specialism and in this role you will lead on our Safeguarding Agenda across all services.

Managing through your people, you will support the Head of Care to ensure that the operating model is effectively deployed and that our services operate to outstanding levels of care, ensuring that the financial and operating objectives are met through effective leadership, management and deployment of objectives and key performance targets for the services.

You will directly liaise with our Commissioning and Placements Partner to ensure that we can offer the appropriate level of care to the children that we support, working collaboratively to ensure the Registered Service Managers appropriately partner with the functions including the MDT, social workers and their relevant external agencies.  You will be responsible for leading the Registered Service Managers in ensuring that we are able to meet the individual needs of the children coming to live in our homes through considering the team around the child and the other children within the MBRs.

It will be natural for you to act as a role model for Registered Managers and all other employees by practicing and promoting the vision and values of the Company; demonstrating best practice in leadership and management and coaching and mentoring Managers to support their development of best practice skills.  There will be times when you will need to manage rather than lead and ensure that the deliverables of the Operations Function are met under the delegation of the Head of Care.

Main Responsibility

  • Reviewing regular management information and ad hoc reports as required by the Head of Care relating to children in our homes, regulatory gradings and any relevant performance monitoring in partnership with your Care Coordinator and our Quality function.
  • Demonstrable delivery of objectives that support the Head of Care with the delivery of the operating model. Driving the highest standards of care, working to Government legislation and Company standards, policies and procedures.
  • It is anticipated that this role will be mobile in our services at least 75% of the time, working directly with the Registered Service Managers and supporting them to embed our operational structure and model.

The Ideal Candidate

Ideally you will already be in a Regional or Senior role in our Sector.  You may be a Registered Manager across a number of different homes currently.  This is unlikely to be a first step move for a Registered Manager who has not overseen a number of homes as we are looking for someone that can immediately understand, appreciate and develop our Registered Managers to be the best that they can be in their roles, helping them to truly understand our ethos of being child centric whilst ensuring that our people are at the heart of our decision making.

You will most definitely have a passion and in-depth understanding of Safeguarding.
