Registered Manager

Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

Job Introduction

It isn't a well kept secret that our industry is finding it challenging to recruit for Registered Managers.  Why change jobs to do exactly the same role but for a different Company is a common question asked?

We passionately believe that we are different to everyone else though.  Not only is our care offering market leading, not only will you be one of the first multi-building Registered Managers in the UK, but the support that we provide to our Registered Managers, both top down and bottom up, continues to be enhanced to ensure that our Managers can find a balance between their commitment to the children in their care, and their own commitments at home.

To that end, we are opening up this opportunity for someone who may be in an Assistant Manager role at the moment, either across several different homes or in one large home.  We will also consider applications from Registered Managers who may not have experience of multi-site management.

We wear our heart on our sleeve here at Wilderness.  This role isn't an easy one to deliver and comes with it's challenges but it also comes with great reward for your hard work, not just financial but emotional and personal reward.  You will be responsible for a total of 24 employees and 4 children across 4 different homes.  What you will get from us is complete support to achieve what you need to achieve to be proud of what you do every day and make a difference to the lives of our children and to our employees.

We will provide you with the training and coaching from senior colleagues that you may need to be successful, together with dedicated care coordination support to ensure that the administrative elements of the job are fine tuned and do not detract you from the other important parts of your role.  This enables you to be a positive role-model to our colleagues and children and to deliver against the Leadership and Management Standard in line with the SCCIF.   You'll also have an Assistant Manager to support you with the deliver of the children's objectives and to help you in managing through your people, enabling them to be the best that they can be.

Main Responsibility

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will effectively and efficiently manage a Multi-Building Registration across multiple sites.

You will be responsible for the leadership, management and operation of this service, supporting children who predominantly are with us for a period of around 4 months, where the aim is to support both the child and their external team to move towards achieving the goals on their permanency plan.

We will help and support you to set the operational direction and organise the effective running of the service to meet its Statement of Purpose.

Through your positive outlook and ability to see beyond behaviours, this role will reward your hard work through the positive outcomes that we achieve for our children during their time with us. A significant number of children move on from AWW to some level of permanency, whether that be foster care, a ‘step down’ provision or back to their family environment.

We are an equal opportunities employer and have a commitment to safeguarding children; we follow safer recruitment processes. All roles will be subject to a successful disclosure at an appropriate level from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), Access NI or Disclosure Scotland.
