Senior Accounts Assistant

Main Responsibility

  • Processing supplier invoices and staff expenses with related payment runs
  • Managing new/existing supplier details and relationships
  • Communicating with internal and external stakeholders including suppliers, providing excellent customer service
  • Supplier statement reconciliation
  • Purchase card and petty cash control, review, ledger postings and reconciliations
  • Bank postings with matched invoices and corresponding reconciliations
  • Preparation and posting of prepayments and accruals
  • Assist Finance Manager with month end processing to achieve strict deadlines
  • Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Involvement in implementation of a new purchase order system
  • Resolving queries with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Support of the team with any ad hoc finance work

The Ideal Candidate

  • At least two years of Purchase Ledger/General Ledger experience including preparing and posting accruals, prepayments
  • Experienced working in a busy team and month end experience
  • Experience of involvement with new system implementation
  • Great analytical skills 
  • Knowledge Knowledge of and have used Sage 50 Accounts or equivalent accounting software
  • Qualifications Microsoft office – Intermediate Excel and Word
  • Have or studying towards a minimum of AAT level 2 or equivalent accounting qualification
  • Organisational and time management skills, to plan workload effectively and work to strict deadlines 
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication skills, a large part of the role is communicating with both internal and external stakeholders including suppliers

Willingness to undergo a satisfactory enhanced DBS check and to register with the DBS Update Service OR hold a satisfactory enhanced DBS check for the correct workforce plus existing registration for the Update Service

 Ability to understand the needs of people from diverse cultural, social and racial backgrounds.

Package Description

£25,000 - £26,000 per annum 

Permanent 

2 days a week (0.4fte)
