We have a fantastic opportunity to join our Health and Wellbeing Team as a Senior Psychotherapist here at a Wilderness Way.

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Psychotherapist who will work closely with our Clinical Director, to support members of the Health and Wellbeing team’s delivery of high quality, evidenced based therapeutic support to our children and practitioner teams.

Your role and responsibilities as Senior Psychotherapist,

    As Senior Psychotherapist you will be directly responsible for the support and clinical supervision of our therapeutic report and clinical records of those whom you line manage.

    Support members of the Health and Wellbeing Team to develop good practice and promote their own self development through individual managerial support/clinical supervision.

    You will have exceptional knowledge concerning issues related to risk and safeguarding in relation to our children and to guide other team members when necessary.

    You will assist in the development of A Wilderness Way therapeutic training, including researching current, relevant theory and delivering training to operational teams.

    You will be based at Head Office, just outside Penrith. However, you will travel throughout Cumbria, Northumberland and Durham to visit our children and care teams. 


Key qualities that we look for, 

    Substantial and recent experience of working directly with children in a psychotherapy and counselling capacity

    You will hold a UKCP/BACP/HCPC registration and a relevant professional qualification. 

    You will have line manager experience in a care environment including recruitment, training and knowledge to support the practice of our teams

    You will have an excellent understanding of legislation and regulations surrounding residential childcare and safeguarding children

    Ability to work on your own and to tight deadlines 

    Excellent communication skills

    Proficient skills in IT and record keeping 

    A full, valid, UK driving licence and access to your own transport
